Esther Townsend Crim, 72, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital.
Esther was a 52 year resident of Charleston, a retired supervisor from the WV DHHR with 48 years of service. She was a member of Kanawha Two Mile Baptist Church where she was the former church pianist. She loved Southern Gospel Music and was an animal lover, especially her cats.
She was preceded in death by her husband James P. Crim and her brother Edward Ghee.
Esther is survived by her daughter Doris E. Townsend, her sons James E. Townsend and fiancé Cindy Van Meter, and Allen D. Townsend and fiancé Bunnie Snyder all of Charleston. She is also survived by her sister Charlotte of NJ and many other family and friends.
A celebration of Esther’s life will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Fields and Pastor Omar Rucker officiating. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens Mausoleum. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 4 to 6 PM Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the funeral home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, WV 25313.
